What is Alpha?
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone, anywhere, to freely explore their unique questions about life, faith and God. It is a series of interactive sessions exploring the Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks.
The sessions usually have three key elements:
Who is it for?
Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
You don’t have to come for the whole term – just pop along for the first session and see what you think. No pressure, no follow up and no charge.
Location
We run Alpha online (via Zoom) and in person according to the need and availability each season. Contact us to learn more.
Cost
Alpha is free of charge, though there may be a suggested donation towards the cost of the food. Sometimes there we go for outings or activities that cost a small fee during Alpha Weekend (in week 7).
Duration
Each Alpha runs for a total of 10 weeks, + any breaks for public holidays that your group may agree on.
Time
We run Alpha three times per year. Contact us to find out when the next course starts!
A regular Alpha evening starts with dinner at 7:00 PM and we always make sure to end the night by 9:15 PM.
Alpha Weekend/Alpha Day
The Alpha weekend normally falls on week 7 of Alpha, and this is a relaxed weekend that offers more time to get to know one another better and go deeper in conversations. Each Alpha Weekend looks different, so stay tuned for more details in your group.
