Our Membership Exploration Lunch is the first step for anyone who wants to learn more about City Church or explore becoming a member. This relaxed, welcoming lunch includes a short video, personal introductions, and time for questions. Whether you’re new to Beijing or have been attending for a while, this lunch is designed to help you understand our church family and the commitments that shape us.

What to Expect

1. A Warm Meal & Conversation

You’ll enjoy lunch with members of our team and others who are new to City Church. We start by getting to know one another and hearing your story—what brought you to Beijing, what you miss from home, and what you enjoy outside of work or school.

2. A Video Overview of City Church

During the lunch, we watch a short video that introduces:

• Membership — what it looks like to commit to a local church
• Our history — how BICF and City Church began
• Our beliefs — what we teach about Scripture, God, humanity, Jesus, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and eternal life
• Baptism — what it means and why Jesus calls us to it
• Membership — what it looks like to commit to a local church

3. Q&A

After the video, you’ll have the chance to ask questions about faith, baptism, membership, or how to get connected at City Church.

Why Membership Matters

We believe every follower of Jesus belongs to the global Church and that a local church is the visible manifestation of Christ’s global church. Therefore, every Christian should is called to be a part of a local church. Membership is how we live out the “one another” commands of Scripture—loving, serving, praying for, and supporting one another in community.

Membership at City Church includes:

• Water Baptism
• A willingness to grow, serve, and live out the gospel alongside others

It’s free, and no registration is required—just meet our volunteers holding the red newcomer flag after the benediction.
