Character Guidelines

As followers of Jesus Christ, we take seriously His call to live differently from the world and to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. Therefore, in dependence on the Holy Spirit and in unity with one another, we willingly enter into these commitments as members of BICF City Church, seeking to honor Christ in all we say and do.

1. I am willing to be held accountable to what God has called me to be—a Christian representing Jesus in thought, word and action.

2. I am willing to be discipled and mentored so that my mind, life and heart will be constantly renewed to be more like Jesus.    

3. I will honor and respect my leadership, knowing that leadership honors and respects me.   

4. I have read and agree with the Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Doctrinal Statement and desire to represent BICF City Church well.   

5. I welcome biblical evaluation and will submit to pastoral correction to ensure my continued growth in Christ.         

6. I will keep myself sexually pure according to God’s Word for the sake of the Kingdom and the ministry God has entrusted to me. I will be wise in all my relationships and avoid all appearances of evil.

7. I understand the acts of the sinful nature and choose God’s ways rather than the world’s ways. I will not be known for immorality, hate, jealousy, outbursts of anger, drunkenness, wild parties, and things like these.     

8. I understand the fruit of the Spirit, and as the Holy Spirit enables me, I will do my best to exemplify love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:19-25
