The Herald Who Proclaims Good News!

The Herald Who Proclaims Good News!

ISAIAH 52:7–10

7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” 8The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the LORD to Zion. 9Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. 10The LORD has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

God’s plan of salvation was foretold in the Old Testament and fulfilled with the coming of Christ. The prophet Isaiah spoke of this, and the apostle Paul referred to it in Romans 10:13–15. God worked out our salvation in Christ. As recipients of this, we are called to proclaim this to the world, leading to more people knowing and following Him. In this lesson, we will look at what is at work in saving people: God’s arm, our feet and voice to proclaim the good news, and people’s eyes being opened to the gospel.

APPLICATION
• How has the gospel transformed your life? If this is your first time to hear the gospel, would you like to put your complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ today?
• To whom can you preach the gospel this week? Think of how you can begin a conversation with this person.
• Since the gospel is to be preached in every nation, is there a particular nation God has placed in your heart to pray for? How can you participate in what God is doing in that nation?
