Carrying Out the Great Commission

Carrying Out the Great Commission

MATTHEW 28:18–20

18And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus used kingdom language when He said that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to Him. He is King, and He now has authority over the whole earth However, not everyone has submitted to His benevolent rule yet, so He commanded His followers to advance His kingdom by making disciples of all nations (people groups). The command, also known as the Great Commission, has three action words that need to be carried out: go, baptize, and teach. Today, we will look at how we can obey Jesus’ commandment to make disciples of all nations.
