
This course is designed to introduce students to cross-cultural communications. The student will be given tools for more accurately communicating the gospel across cultures. The course will approach cross-cultural communications from a cultural/ethnic viewpoint, as well as a religious viewpoint. More theoretical cross-cultural issues will be covered in depth in the cultural anthropology class. The major emphasis will be upon practical skills to carry out the task of communicating the gospel cross-culturally. Students will be guided to understand the difference between syncretism, accommodationism, and evangelical contextualization.
