David grew up hearing that the Bible had something to say about gender and sexuality, but he was never quite sure what that meant—or why it mattered. In school, at work, and online, he heard many confident voices offering different definitions, each claiming to be true. Over time, he began to assume that the Bible was either unclear on these topics or simply no longer relevant to modern life.
At other times, he reduced the conversation to a list of rules, disconnected from the larger story of Scripture. What surprised him was discovering that the Bible presents a clear and purposeful understanding of gender and sexuality, rooted in God’s design for humanity and woven throughout the story of creation, fall, and redemption.
Learning this helped him see why these teachings matter for Christian discipleship and how they relate to the gospel itself.
