“Where is God in this?” When we don’t have a big picture of the Lord’s purposes, life can feel like being lost in a huge forest with just glimmers of light when a ‘good experience’ breaks through the darkness.

This spring we will study Ezra-Nehemiah. It’s easy to get lost in the details of these books – encouraged then discouraged by different turns of events, looking for moral lessons to learn or models of human leadership to emulate. However, as we look at this period of history in light of the big picture of God’s purposes to restore his whole creation through Christ, we can see God is working out his purposes step by step, but not yet in ultimate fulfilment. When things don’t work out ‘perfectly’ we can see there is more to come; when human leaders come and go, we long for our unchanging, ever-present Lord.

Let’s pray that this series will encourage us at ZGC that wherever God is taking us in 2022, we can see it in light of his continued purposes of restoring us, his people, to himself.

CNY Prayer Focus

As we approach the Chinese New Year, our Elders want us to take some time to focus on praying for our church and the semester ahead of us.

We will have a special prayer time on Sunday, Jan 30th from 1-2 pm after our in-person service and lunch together to pray through our theme scripture passage for Spring 2022 as a church body.

We will also have a longer church prayer and praise night in Wudaokou at Elder Jeremy’s home on Wednesday, Feb 2nd from 6-9 pm to pray for specific areas of ministry focus for the coming year.

In addition to these two times of prayer for the whole church to come together, we will be sending out daily prayer activity prompts to our Announcements group from Jan 31st through Feb 5th encouraging you to pray about specific things either on your own or with a few others around you.

Let’s make 2022 be a season of concerted prayer for our church.

CNY Holiday socials

With many of us on break now, this is a great time to be intentional in
spending time with others. If you would like to organise/suggest a social
activity this winter break for example a games night, walks or trips to some
tourist sights e.t, please find details about the “Winter Fun Socials Organisers” in our WeChat groups. Details of the activities will be shared in our Community WeChat group.

in-person options

Although we can not all come together in a physical location for fellowship on Sundays, we invite you to join one of our cluster groups where you and a smaller number of brothers and sisters can join the Sunday service together.

For more details ask in our WeChat groups or contact zgc@bicf.org

Serving together

The body is made up of many parts that are all growing together into Christ. We only grow strong as each part of the body does its part in helping the whole get stronger.

We are looking for more volunteers to serve in our Tech and Sound ministries. We also need someone to help with website maintenance and sermon uploads.

We also have needs in the areas of community building through our small groups and other life-on-life activities.   If you have not yet found the place where you can use the gifts God has given you in serving the body of Christ, talk to one of the Elders, Deacons, or staff members about how you can get connected.

Not yet in one of our small groups? Join a small group of brothers and sisters during the week for a time fellowship, bible study, sharing and prayer.

Online and offline options are available.
