Youth Ministry

Our Purpose

The BICF Youth Ministry’s goal is to build a vibrant, reproducing community of young people unified in Christ, which embraces and transforms youth of all nations, to impact their cities, their nations, and the world for Jesus Christ.

At BICF one of our guiding principles is this: “People first, task second.” This is especially true in youth ministry. You can teach students the “right” things all day long, but if there is no personal connection we won’t make a difference. At BICF we strive to reach beyond simply entertaining students and instead try to connect them to one another, to leaders who care about their spiritual growth and ultimately to God himself. We do this by worshiping God and fellowshipping together, discipling and mentoring students in small groups and teaching students to live out their faith by ministering to others and sharing their faith.

Staff

Our Youth Pastor is Matt Banker. Matt spent three years in Beijing as a part of the BICF Youth Group from 1997-2000, and has recently returned to serve here in Beijing. He and his wife are originally from Minnesota and have been in Beijing since March 2008.
