The Russian fellowship started with the vision and prayers of many people long before it really took place. There were some Godly people who saw a need for it and started to pray for Russian fellowship to be a part of BICF, thus in October 2005 a small group of three young disciples were invited to come to Beijing from Uzbekistan. On November 27, 2007 Russian group first had a Sunday service with those three people. Since that time the Christians in BICF came to know about this new small fellowship group, so people started to contact and come to the Sunday service in Russian language among them were some foreigners who could speak Russian or just loved to serve with the Russians. The Russian fellowship is open not only for Russians, but for all people who speak Russian or interested in cooperation and friendship with Russian speaking people in BICF. Currently at the Russian fellowship there are Russian speaking students from different countries of former Soviet Union, such as Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine. There are some young professional who work in the city. In the past three years we had brothers and sisters from USA, Canada, Bulgaria and Nigeria with whom we became close friends through the time of worship and fellowship. The vision of our group is aligned with the BICF- to build a vibrant reproducing community for God’s glory and ministry, to serve the spiritual needs of the people. We pray to expand more small groups all over the city in every university campus where our students study in order to be a “light and salt” there; we focus to make each believer into a disciple of Christ and a potential leader for this world. We realize the shortage of time for students who come just for 1 year or so, to equip and prepare them for their future ministry that their perspective would focus on God in everything they do. Every Sunday we have service in the BICF 21st Century - Chapel B at 2:00pm. Every Friday we have a small group at 6:30pm at Wang Jing area where we study some materials, pray, share our joy and difficulties and have dinner together. We have combined services with other fellowships, invite guest speakers, hold camps outside the city, invite new students and people for fellowship and to share with them God’s love, to become friends with them and help as much as possible. During vacation time we have short m. trips to different regions inland and outside. We have trips to different places to serve, such as orphanage, campus ministry. We have close friendly relationship with one particular university in the north-east area with a group of Russian students where we go to serve and support our friends. In the past there were some groups who visited us here and we had combined ministry, help new people to get around in the city and get used to new life. We welcome all new comers to the city and BICF and those interested to be a part of Russian fellowship group.
