If you are from the continent of Africa living in China you may face challenges including culture shock. It will not take many days before you start missing home. You will start missing those worship services with unique flavor conducted in West Africa, Central Africa, South Africa, East Africa etc. You may start wondering is there any church or congregation in China where you can have systematic study of God’s word in depth, and have real quality time to seriously pray and get revived, transformed and your other needs met! Is there a place where you can express yourself in your own language freely as you worship and pray? Maybe the culture shock has made you a lonely, depressed person. Where will you find people with common background and interest that you can share your burdens and pray together? How are Africans living in Beijing and beyond linked for the purpose of helping one another spiritually, emotionally, materially or physically?

The Lord started a ministry within Beijing International Christian Fellowship (BICF) called African Outreach Ministry (AOM) in an answer to the above questions. It is an evangelism focused congregation with specific vision. The African Outreach Ministry is expecting brothers and sisters from Africa with different talents or gifts to join and serve the Lord in areas such as:
(a) INSPIRATION (mainly concerned with worship team, teaching and preaching ministry)
(b) SMALL GROUP (backbone of growth-multiplication)
(c) IMPACT (outreach programs)
(d) LIFE STATION (include women ministry, children ministry, youth ministry, men ministry)
(e) PRAYER (the main engine or power house holding all ministries together)

VISION

• The Vision of African Outreach Ministry (AOM) is to reach out to the African Community which comprising of diplomats, students, workers, business people, etc in Beijing and beyond. Not waiting for people to come to church but rather taking the church to the people.”

• Also we have taken it as a duty to observe the acts of compassion as it is found in the days of in the bible by helping one another whenever and when the need arises, maintaining closer relationships with God and our brothers and sisters by meeting to worship and pray every weekend.

• Through our meetings we also serve as strategic link to connect other Africans coming to Beijing and those living in China. Holding programs of common interest such as Revival Service with unique African Flavor, where people are transformed, revived for better service in outreach activities/extending God’s kingdom. We also use this medium to attend to individual needs by praying together and counseling – many people’s faith has been increased and revived by these activities.

• Do not wait to be told by people, come and hear testimonies of what God is doing among members of the African Outreach Ministry during our regular Revival Service every Saturday. And I believe God you will definitely experience a great difference in your life and business.
